A closed-head drum (UN code 1H2) is a container where the top is permanently attached and cannot be removed. These drums have one or two openings (bungs) in the top for filling and dispensing. Closed-head drums are typically used for liquids and semi-solids. Standard 5-gallon pails are classified as 1H2 containers.
