Nesting Ratio
Nesting Ratio
The percentage of height saved when empty pails are stacked (nested) inside each other for storage and shipping.
Nesting ratio describes the space-saving efficiency when empty containers are stacked inside each other. For standard 5-gallon HDPE pails, the nesting ratio is approximately 30-40%, meaning a stack of 10 nested pails is only 60-70% the height of 10 non-nested pails. This is achieved through a tapered design where the bottom diameter is smaller than the top. Efficient nesting reduces shipping costs and warehouse storage space. A standard pallet holds 120 pails (12 stacks of 10) due to optimized nesting. The M&M Industries M2 pail is specifically designed for maximum nesting efficiency.
