Hydrostatic Test

Hydrostatic Test

A pressure test that evaluates container leak resistance by applying internal hydraulic pressure.

A hydrostatic test evaluates a container's ability to withstand internal pressure without leaking or deforming. The container is filled with water, sealed, and pressurized to a specified level (typically 20-30 kPa for UN certification). The test verifies that seams, closures, and container walls can withstand pressure generated during handling, temperature changes, and altitude variations during transport. Hydrostatic testing is required for UN-certified liquid containers.
